If your area is anything like the one I've moved to, it seems like people assume that you're "supposed" to have a dog, especially if you have kids. They are conditioned to think that not wanting a dog is somehow wrong and don't think that it's better not to have a dog and be thought a bit weird than to get a dog and not take proper care of it. That includes training! Why get a dog if you're going to leave it tied up to bark while you play with the kids, yelling "SHUDDUUUP" every 5 minutes? I've never seen a family so disinterested in their pet. No walks. No fetch. Nothing. That poor animal. I hope you get reincarnated as a high-energy dog and get to experience exactly what you inflicted on it.
