Think I was taken...Cochin question...

This time of year alot of people will throw all their babies together when it is super cold so their body heat will keep them warmer. Sounds like someone had done this and sorta had a feeling that those were not pure Cochin chicks and pawned them off on ya. I would contact the seller and ask them what is going on.

Calm down everyone!

I will get pics when I can, probably tomorrow! But, she also has Ameraucanas, but these are bantams, so unless she has bantam Ameraucanas, I don't know. Their feet are heavily feathered, and they are very round-looking. She also has Japanese Bantams. That has nothing to do with these, but just thought I would throw that out there! LOL! She also has Silkies. In fact, that is why I answered her ad...she had a splash Silkie mix I wanted.

Seems like the upright stance and high held tail of the D'Uccles would counteract the roundness of the Cochin?? Oh well...maybe y'all will see something that I am missing and can fill in the blanks when I get the pics up!

Thanks for all the responses!

Cochins don't have muffs. I've had a flock of cochin bantams for 3-4 years... never seen one with muffs. They are surely crosses with something else. Sound neat tho.

Ok...no pictures, but looking at them today, I am positive they are blue Cochin/Ameraucana (EE?) bantam crosses. They are really cute. I was hoping to breed some of the Cochins and sell them, though, so I don't see that happening.

I'm going to go with the opinion that she thought she had Cochins and didn't know any better. She is also on here, but I don't know her user name. I'm a little irritated by spending so much and out of $35 and 4 birds, I have one possible full-breed...the roo. But, he's not good enough to show for FFA, because I think he has too many points on his comb.

Oh well, I was really just wanting some broody hens so I could hatch some eggs out, so as long as they go broody, I'm fine!

I charge about $10 and up for crosses or very pet quality silkies; decent silkies, even ones who are not SQ go for much more. Laying hens tend to run at least $10, so $35 for four birds doesn't seem like a lot.

I really want to see pics too, I saw some of the coolest little bantams at the sale last weekend, the lady didn't know what they were but they obviously had silkie in them, they had feathered leggs, they had muffs like MF Duccles, and short legs and high tails like Japs, they were so cool.
