Chicks another simple suggestion that probably shouldn't need to be made is get back into a good bedtime routine. Bath, brush teeth, get a book and read or whatever. Just so that for the last 30 to 45 minutes of the evening is spent doing things to relax her. With this just being the first few weeks of school her whole body clock is off. Without that relaxing time if she's having trouble at school she will lay down and all of it will just run through her head and she'll have trouble getting to sleep.
Now I say this in general and not to chicks directly... I too would not want to risk dosing someone else's child even with food coloring. I know that I would be through the roof if someone did it to mine. Now that's not saying that I wouldn't deal with the issue at hand but the adult does assume responsibility for the kids who stay at their home and God forbid anything to happen but the adult would definitely be liable for any incidents. I know that if my 16 year old spent the night at a friends house and took some over the counter medicine (like say she had an allergy attack and needed some dayquil or benedyl for bug bites) late at night only to become ill and find out that the medicine had been spiked there would be heck to pay for sure. Now I don't anticipate that happening because I keep a firm eye on the medicines here but teens make bad decisions sometimes. Just this weekend my daughter went for the dayquil and we had to tell her no because it hadn't been long enough since her last dose and no tylenol because it's in the dayquil.
