I found this pic. of my young royal palms as well as 3 turkens that shared a barn with them. Taken last summer. There is a buff and a blue fawn also.

I have fallen down several times this past week trying to walk on the ice and snow that is crusted over. This has to be one of the worst winters for me as far as doing chores.

Frozen water, frozen feet and a sore butt from slip and fall.

Gotta find an easier hobby.

lilchick, Tom Skilling (meteorologist at WGN Chicago) last night said that the average first day for a 70 degree day is only 45 days away!! (March 26) You should be having one before that since you're farther south..........think on that!! Beautiful picture of your flock. I can't wait for Spring even though I know it's going to be a muddy mess here when all this snow starts thawing! It's -21 here this morning

BUT........it's suppose to be above freezing most of next week!!

It was -11 this a.m. when I got out of my warm bed and slipped out to cabin coop to check on banties. They were all fluffed up and grouped together on a platform with soft grass hay. Some of them do not roost and this gets them up off the floor.
I found that grass hay stays fluffy and works better than straw..

Last evening I gave them a pep talk and explained that it was supposed to warm up this week so hang in there.

I have brought a few in these past weeks and they are now basement chickens. Much to my hubby's delight.
