He has his own harem of fantastic black hens from RooptyDoo now
If you do put him with silkies use black ones with the darkest skin possible,

Thats what I kinda was thinking I have a black hen that is very black and really dark skinned. The only thing I was wondering about is the black being the dominent gene and was wondering if they would all be black?? I'm not good when it comes to color genetics. your roo is very pretty by the way!!

sorry if I sound plum stupid but I want to make sure I'm thinking straight and headed in the right direction LOL... Okay the first generation would be barred roos and black hens correct?? So then I would need to take the ones that look the closest to silkies and breed back with what?? each other or the original pair?? and when would it or even would it be possible to get barred hens?

If you did decide to sell him, I would love to have him if I could afford him, if you do decide to, please PM me and let me know what the shipping and all would cost.

Are you still not getting any eggs from your hens ? Please keep me in mind for when you have those too.

Thanks

Actually I got 2 pairs from a guy that breeds and shows them, both hens laid on the way home this was back in April and since I've had them at home neither one has laid, and I lost the hen that was with him just the other day I'm not so sure she wasn't egg bound. No signs of sickness or nothing like that just fine one morning and dead the next so I'm goin with impacted crop or egg bound. I haven't had any experience with shipping but A few that are close to me might help me out a lil if I decide to ship. I know it would be expensive. I'd need the box bought and sent to me and them I'm estimating shipping would be $40 or more. He is show quality, I'd have to think on a price though. Let me ponder on it or give me an offer to ponder on..LOL
