Thinking niacin deficiency...

Is this stuff alright to use with him? It was what the store had, but, my mom and I are going up to a Walgreens later so if I need to get something different than I can do that.

Actually nutritional yeast has more niacin in it. Why not go with an all flock feed it’s much less expensive than mazuri and just give your patient the b complex liquid. If it’s a niacin def it should improve pretty quick but they need more nutrients than what they are getting from scratch.

Alright, thank you. I'll look into the all flock and nutritional yeast.

All Flock is $12.89 for a 50lb bag where I live, I highly suggest you switch from scratch to an All Flock, like casportpony already said.

And try to find a B liquid without the flush-free niacin. If you can't find a liquid, but can find a tablet, I'd get that and grind them up then mix with water.

Alright, thank you. I'll look into the all flock and see what it costs here.

We're just about to go back out to the store, so I'll be looking for a B liquid without the flush-free niacin.

Edit: Didn't mean I WANTED the flush free niacin...sigh.

I'll see if we can switch...We used to feed them I think it was the Mazuri Waterfowl feed? But once my hen hatched out 20 + babies it got too expensive so that's why we switched to scratch.

I'll look into prices, ingredients, and what our feed store has.

Also, I went to get a picture of his feet, but he was just too squirmy to do it. I did look over him carefully, again, and the bottom of his feet showed zero signs of bumblefoot. I felt his legs and they're normal. I'm thinking I'll just start treating him with the B complex, and if it doesn't clear up, we'll go from there. But I have a hunch that it's probably niacin deficiency.

So you would suggest brewers yeast once he's better?

Yes...and there are tons of different forms of niacin....so nutritional yeast or brewers yeast will work fine, because they both supply niacin...and help the problem not come back. When the problem is corrected get all flock...it has niacin in it, but I supply with extra so they are getting the exact right amount( I just sprinkle it on the food). Yes you do need b-complex with out flush free niacin. Which I see you have gotten so good job!
I have no idea what flush free really means....@Miss lydia?

50# is over $16 here! :(
