~*Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatch-Athon*~ all poultry welcome!

I am SO SORRY! Just heartbreaking! :hugs

This hatch has been greatly problematic for me too, but at least I did get some good chicks.

It still kills me that I had so many that were fertile, that did develop, but that just couldn't make it. I KNOW that that is common with shipped eggs.....and I tried to prepare myself for that kind of outcome.... But it is still super difficult. -sigh-

yeah i hear you i wait till tuesday to try to open the eggs

Yep, I am thinking that I am going to start "peeking" in eggs tomorrow night. I just REALLY thought I would get a few more than I did.

I really need to learn how to take pics during the day but i added a 14ft by 10ft rectangle to my garden area which was already 9ft by 8ft I should have plenty of room for the ducks I'll be trying to hatch out. But i still have to add the wood and wire i have some wire down right now to keep my dogs out of my garden but I'll have a month to finish so I'm not worried. I added a door (it does open) but it does look weird with no other wood in the area right now The original line was on the left of this tree Right side of the peach tree w\ wire place holders Pretty much the same thing but from the side CAUTION: Weak stomach peoples look away Before you continue this doesn't "hurt" as bad as it looks and i don't have an HD camera thank goodness This is what happens when your verbally fighting with someone while holding a pole in place and trying to use a sledgehammer to drive the poles at the same time AKA: a 20 pound sledgehammer to hand is a bad thing
OOOOWWWWW! I feel foolish for complaining about my two little blisters from using the hammer too much now.
I'm up to three feather footed babies out. Two other chicks are externally pipped. The other two died. And one duck has externally pipped.
Aww. So sorry about the ones that died. But so jealous of the babies. I can't wait til mine start hatching. I set a bit late though so lockdown day was today.
I love my eggs over easy with home made hash brown (made ahead of time and froze in patties) with bacon and sausage. White gravy made with grease for bacon and sausage . lots of pepper and salt. over biscuits. and a big glass of milk... and am in heaven.....
I like my eggs all kinds of different ways but that sounds delicious. Tonight I'm making biscuits and sausage gravy with 1 or 2 fried over medium eggs (whites well done, runny yolk)

Yep glue is awesome. I have a very accident prone son, Hes 4 and has had stiches 3 times, and probably 6 gashes that we could glue together ourselves. But the first 2 times he had stitches they came loose so we took him to his reg DR and she took all the stitches out cleaned it again and used the purple glue. Basically medicated superglue. My DH uses alcohol to clean everything, glue to fix every thing and if we dont have a big enough bandage, duct or electrical tape. lol

it was funny the glue the docter used had the color and smell of bubble gum (or that pain killer was some heavy hitting stuff)

Well I couldnt get any good pics or videos buuuut, all 56 are at least slightly moving, some all you can see is more of a breathing movement while some of the bigger eggs have more room and you can see twitching. 3 of the look like they are close to an internal pip so maybe some early birds? Humidity and temp have been stable through the whole hatch surprisingly and air cells look awesome

3 am on Cinco De Mayo and I cant believe I actually hit the mark... One Turkey out and 6 more pips... Pictures later today... Turkeys are so darn cute!!
