so I will be hand feeding them every few hours and hoping for the best

Oh this isn't the first time I've had to hand raise kittens or little helpless critters in general.. so I'm well aware of the whole issue with taking care of their bodily functions.. (and a wet warm cotton ball works very well for imitating momma cat)!

Feral mommas have so much on their minds-- I'm sure she didn't leave them unless circumstances forced her too. SHe clearly trusted your place to have her kittens. Wise kitty.

We used washclothes instead of cotton balls.

My turkeys have not gone back to laying!!! One hen was laying quite a bit when it was wayyy to cold (below zero) and then stopped. I don't think I will have any turkey eggs to incubate for the hatch-athon.

Squeezing them doesn't seem to help either!

So, if I don't get any eggs soon I may have to purchase hatching eggs. Does anyone have any Narrangansett hatching eggs they would like to sell? If so please pm me. Thank you!

I hope they pick up laying again for you. They should since they have already started the weather could have put them on a short pause but Im willing to bet you will have a few to set come April 7th. Good Luck!

Feral kitties have a special place in my heart-- long ago we used to take in ferals. One in particular was a big black and white male. After neutering and shots I brought him home to live with us. When the weather was warm I would leave the door open and he would venture in. If I closed the door he panicked running helter skelter thru thru house to excape. We left the door open after that -- he would come in and then leave at will. HE lived outside in a rubbermaid bin. Lined with a sheep pelt inside, and one hanging over the top to make a flap door. We could never pat him, but he eventually accepted us peeking in to check on him. We called him Beemer-- short for Black 'n White , a pun on BMW. A memorable cat.

I set 3 MW turkey eggs tonight to test fertility. Only one of my two hens is laying, but hopefully the other will start soon so I can collect a nice clutch (and some Barred Rock tutors) to set for this HAL.

I know she really should be an indoor cat with all that long hair (she looks part Maine Coon).. but there's no convincing her that INSIDE is safe
