Just candled the eggs under the goose she has 6 ducks and 5 turkey going strong. I pulled one turkey because it was obviously clear.

I candled my turkey eggs last night. I had set 25 and I ended up having to pull 16 clears, bummer. I still have 9 BR turkey eggs going strong. I had also set 24 chicken eggs the same day as my turkey eggs and pulled 1 clear and 1 bloodring, so 22 chicken eggs still looking good. My broody bantam is on day 3 she has god knows how many eggs under her lol. She had 6 that I marked 2 days ago and then whatever was laid yesterday is either under her or her sister who decided to sit with her all day yesterday and sleep in the nest also. Im not sure if she is there for moral support or if they are both broody. Im thinking moral support lol.

I had to set a tad bit late but I am going to candle this weekend. I set 14 turkey eggs, 2 duck eggs, 6 silkie eggs and 2 polish eggs.

I snuck a peek a few days ago and the duck eggs are growing like mad but the turkey eggs weren't looking promising on the ones I checked so I stopped. Didn't want to be sad because it was too early to really check yet then.

I wish one of my hens would go broody to hatch me out some more babies!

Oooo, I'm in! I have some Ameraucana/Araucana bantam and some Belgian d'Uccle mille fleurs crossed with my favorite backyard mix hen in the 'bator, but they will hatch a smidge early for this HAL. But I did just add 7 Belgian d'Uccle mille fleur to the 'bator on the 14th so I'm totally in! Exciting. I'm finishing up with the Easter HAL too. I have never done back to back HAL's before! DH is totally feeding my addiction too!

I have one determinedly broody RP hen who is sitting on 9 eggs that are on day 8. And I have two more hens that are sleeping on nests tonight instead of on the roost. They are not full-blown broody yet but I believe they are working up to it. One was on her nest all day today but when I checked under her tonight she hadn't even laid an egg so I think she is the closest.
