This Can't Be Real...

How many do you have room for? Cause if you have the capacity you could at least raise up some of the babies and see how their personalities turn out (and their show potential)

Chick pics? :jumpy

I would have room for 4 if I wanted to keep them till they're about 4 months. By then I'll have a better idea on which, if any, I want to keep. The ones I already know I don't want to keep will be sold at 4 weeks and cockerels will be taken to my local auction as I can get around £12 per Cockerel there.

I'll probably only end up keeping one till it starts laying as I don't have room in my coop for to many more.

Here's the 6 chicks Zoltan's the father of:

Oh my gosh, look how fluffy they are!! :love

Just got a new Silkie in my flock...

Say hello to Carrot! :frow

'She' is roughly around 9-10 weeks old and is a bearded gold.

Fingers crossed to her staying a female :fl

I'll be so disappointed if I have to say goodbye to my little Carrot :hit

If she is a she, I may have a go at a show too. She's looking nice for her age already.

Although I can't complain whatever happens, she only cost me £1:50...

Aw, welcome Carrot :love
Totally adorable.
Wow, that's an incredible price. (You do mean like $1.50, right? I think your money is worth more right now, but just roughly).

Is she totally healthy as far as you can tell?

Ah yes! I checked on the converter and it works out at around $1.88 so not too much difference.

Yes she's perfectly healthy, when I first got them back (because I got 4 all together and was £6 for the whole lot) I seperate her from all birds and quarantined her. She has no lice or anything but I still deloused and sprayed her with scaly leg protector which I do will all my chickens every month.

The remaining 3 I'm selling on to other homes so they're still seperate.

If Carrot turns out to be a male I'll have to move him to another home.

That’s nuts. It’s like not even worth selling them for that little money. Might as well just give them away. Did the previous owner just have too many or something?

Hopefully Carrot is a girl. Would be a shame to part with her. Do you have pics of the others?

I just stumbled across your reply here! I apologise for the late reply back.

Yes I believe they had excess pet quality ones to sell, I saw Carrot and thought...'hm, you have potential!' :lau

I just had to get all 4 even though I only wanted the one.

The others were 100% pet quality and looked like cockerels to me. Totally different to Carrot.

I do have photos but I'll have to get them later on from my email.

Anyways, someone bought the 'spare' three today.

Carrot is still looking like a female but we will see!
