This chicken is not dead

Did your chicken have a heart attack? I am sorry to hear this. Is this a common occurrence? We lost a chicken and I brought it to the department of agriculture and they never called me back but I’m wondering if this is what happened

So sorry for your loss, and sorry you didn’t hear anything about a cause.

This thread is for fun, it’s well known that our wonderful feathered friends like to give us grey hair and worry us, sometimes when they are sunbathing they look like they have passed away.

Most of us have had to go check to see if they are ok at least once!

I think my BSL had one last November.
She was healthy and fine, and then that night just up and died.

Oh how sad! And a shock I imagine.

No worries, they're quite difficult to photograph when "alive". They were hatched by my super skittish australorp, from random eggs I got from a friend. Here are two with mum as babies, from a couple of weeks ago, and a rare closeup.

They turned out beautifully. There is nothing sweeter than a hen with chicks.
