That’s so sweet, why was Elmer on his own to begin with?Update: Elmer & Hattie are still doing well together. I haven’t noticed any wear on Hattie's feathers. Elmer seems very devoted to her and she sticks to him like glue. He even sits outside the box when she is laying.
Wow very convincing!
Gosh she’s a wee little old ladyView attachment 4176462
Ini mini just having a strange nap with her head in the sun. She is still alive and kicking but not a very fit chicken anymore (11yo).
I don’t think I have posted these before.
Pearl appears to have lost her head.

He originally was penned with his 3 brothers. They all died within the last two years (mereks) so he was alone. His coop and run are adjacent to the large coop and run with a hardware cloth divider between his coop and the large coop. Hattie squeezed through the gate when I left it ajar. She didn't seem distressed, and Elmer is being an attentive gentleman, so I left her. She goes broody about every 3 weeks though so he may still feel like a bachelorThat’s so sweet, why was Elmer on his own to begin with?
Or he might join here! Those bantam Roos love their ladies! He originally was penned with his 3 brothers. They all died within the last two years (mereks) so he was alone. He set in the box with her quite a bit today. I'm worn out from breaking all these bantam broodies. I hate that Hattie can't raise babies. I know she'd be a good mom.Or he might join here! Those bantam Roos love their ladies!
