This chicken is not dead

Legit had a heart attack when I saw her just laying there

Oh, and she doesn't move even when you are literally standing just inches away from her. :he (you can see where my boots are in comparison to where she is)

I have 43, they all want to get under foot, they are a serious trip hazard! I have to shuffle my way through them so I don’t step on anyone or trip and fall on someone! Brats all of them, brats!

😊

My Tbred likes to sleep flat out in her stall. And she will just lay there with her eyes open. Yee gads!
It's even worse when they're old, because
1) they have a harder time getting up, and
2) you fear that they may actually be dead, at least until you see them breathing.
The horse in the picture is Lacey, a 24 year old Paint mare.

She's still going strong though!

Yup my gals are 23 and 24, the 24 yr old Tbred gets up fine but the Arab mare has arthritis in her hocks and has real struggles getting up. Worse is that she has sleep issues because she can’t get down to sleep so she falls over asleep - seen it on the stall cam a few times . Sheesh!

I am seriously thinking of having her euthanized before winter. I am too old to be hauling her butt up.
