Yall did a great job.
I thought my DH was only one who re-uses nail, lol.
All of the wood in my coops are from pallets. They burn all the pallets at my DH work place as well. It's shame to see it all go to waste. It's a pain to take them apart but well worth it.
Congrats on the coops, job well done.

Well.....now we have the chicken coop....this was NOT free...but..total cost...UNDER $200. This coop is 12x14 There are going to be 4 seperate pens inside with seperate runs. We still have work to do on this one...but you can get the idea of what it will look like....
Coop3WallsUP.jpg

North and South walls....up. We used the whole panels on this coop...DH bought some all thread, we cut it in 8 inch lengths...and drilled holes in each panel for the all thread to go through, and put washers and nuts on each end. This holds the wall panels next to each other tight!

All walls up, and roof on...whew!!

I will try to get more pics tomorrow...of the inside...its not finished yet...but almost there!! Whew!

Thanks everyone....as we get more done, I will update...DH wants to put in a great watering system...so I wont have to lug buckets....will show that when we get it built. Its been lots of hard work...but...the rewards will be great, haveing pure breeds. 4 Pens.... Ameracaunas...white langshans....black langshans..and Pheonix. Plus will have the BO by themselves as well.

Really nice job! What a great coop. You should submit this! I think it would be really helpful for people that are looking to build coops from similar materials.

That's awesome and you can't beat that price, or lack thereof. The only suggestion I have is covering the windows with either harware cloth or welded wire, instead of chicken wire. It keeps chickens in, but keeps nothing out...

justusnak, Nicely done. Good idea about using pallets. I'll have to start looking around myself. To make longer studs out of the 1x3's or whatever, I could half-lap them together. Be a lot cheaper than buying plywood or OSB, too.
