This is a problem

I've stated everything I know. We have term long Vet study classes here and kids in those classes can bring in their animals to present about them as a final grade.

I believe you, this is just NUTS to me.

Is it, like, a big college with a huge Ag department or a small one with a few classes more or less run by adjunct?

I have run into issues with the latter at mine (in different subjects). Sometimes there are just knowledge gaps, even with professors.

This may not be in the right forum, I apologize.

My school has one ag classroom and a greenhouse. I'm in an ag class right now. For the last 2 weeks a few kids have been bringing in some visibly and obviously sick chickens (coughing, sneezing and one group even said they were treating their birds at the school for an unnamed illness that requires quarantine).
My concern is the biosecurity of not just my flock but anyone else's who happen to go to a class in that room or the greenhouse.

When I brought up my concerns, the perpetrators tried to tell me that biosecurity is my fault and my responsibility and that it's my fault if the disease spreads. How can I responsibly stop this or at least get them to realize they are the problem?

Mind you, I've never brought my own birds to this school.

Well, she is definitely not teaching the proper care of chickens, but it also is up to the individual to practice proper bio security. I don’t know where you live but in the area that I live in, there is a disease called virulent Newcastles disease going around and the USDA has limited any type of movement of chickens in certain zones. Much of LA County is affected and they are requiring everybody in these areas to euthanize their chickens, whether they are sick or not. The US postal is not delivering chickens to a huge radius and I am part of it. I am just hoping and praying they do not find VND in chickens in my town. They will probably require everybody to euthanize their chickens just like they have done in other towns. My chickens are my pets, but it does not even matter. Whole flocks are being required to be euthanized and if they have already euthanized many thousands of birds. I am not sure of the numbers but they are huge and very few of them were sick. I think they have only found three or four sick birds total! I think three or four commercial chicken operations had to destroy all their chickens as well as all the backyard chicken owners in the areas.

I'm debating if I should just email administration or schedule a meeting. I really don't want to be pulled into a room with my teacher and these people to address this issue.
Schedule a meeting and make sure you come properly backed with all the information about spreading of diseases and chickens. Possibly bring a lot of the information about what is going on now in California with Virulent Newcastle‘s disease.
