There will always be those people that wont learn anything if it means they have to admit they don't know everything. I like to think of them as the lowest point on the bell curve.

Keep in mind you only have to deal with them for this class. Then surround yourself with positive thinkers. Life is too short to spend your time with a butthead

Bummer of a situation.
It sounds like your concerns were heard, but only time will tell.
Best to keep your cool and protect your flock as best you can by washing and changing clothes between school and home chores(probably should do that anyway as you are in contact with other chicken owners).
Wonder if politely suggesting a class chapter on bio-security and effective quarantine would he helpful. Finding a diagnostic lab nearby might be a good thing to do too, maybe they would donate services for the class.
