yes, Tylan injectable was suggested to me also. I can't really separate him from the flock for the same reasons already stated. However, we have treated the flock with Duragard, something you can use to treat the flock monthly, with no harm and no effect on the eggs. So we will plan on doing that as it does work well.

yes, I read on here that Cipro and Baytril are the same. I think either the Cipro we had was losing it's strength (I''d had it for awhile) or the reintroduction of it was enough to push him over the top. This evening at dinner he looked great...beautiful normal looking eye with a tiny knot under it. I will give him the Cipro, for several more days. We have had a very severe winter here (lots of us can say that) and I think it was just that the flock used up all their immune resources dealing with it for so long. We have snow and cold today but supposed to be much warmer next week. and yes, we always give the flock ACV periodically, as well as Turmeric and vitamins periodically too.

Sounds like you are doing everything in your power to keep your birds healthy! Glad he is doing better!

Well, today he seems much better again. I noticed the eye looked better yesterday. Today he would not really let me get close, neither did he want his "treats" with the medicine in them, though he ate them when I laid the dish next to him and walked off a few steps. Weather is warming and he and his brother are both very hormonal. They are both screaming constantly and displaying, so I think he FEELS pretty good
As far as I could tell, the eye looked pretty normal. I ordered Baytril, (because I'm out of Cipro as of today) and Cipro eye drops, but I don't know if I'm going to get a chance to use them. Still trying to avoid confining him, and handling him, if possible. He seems to be much better whenever the weather is better.

I will try to. He has been very active and looks well, so I haven't worried about it too much. Still not 100 % though. I've been meaning to take another pic but he's either up in the rafters or outside running around whenever I think about it.

Sweetpea, our peahen, has never forgiven me for catching her to examine her feet, and that was weeks ago. She's outta there when she sees me coming. And she's communicating her feelings about me to Snap, our younger peahen, too. They both obviously mistrust me, which is too bad. The peacocks are better, they always have been pretty trusting, especially Phoenix...but I want to keep it that way.

The lump under his eye is very small now, almost gone. The eye is open and he is using it. Still a little off. It also looks like it has a small white fleck, like a scar.
Makes me wonder if it was an injury after all. He is off the meds for the time being. I am keeping an eye on him. If I see him declining, we will have exhausted
all our other efforts and I will have to catch him, that's all. But so far, he looks like he is continuing to improve, and is active and eating well.
