I can't believe it! [IMG] It was so delicious. Best egg ever. [IMG] I love my chickens 10x more now, haha. It was a double-yolker too! [IMG] The yolks were so orange, and not that icky yellow. My lil brother is now checking every hour for more! I heard them being extra loud in the coop yesterday, but I never thought *this* was the reason! I put the full story + pictures on my blog. (I'd post them here, but I'm supposed to be doing school...) http://www.zoeslovelylittlezoo.blogspot.com
I ate this egg in honor of you guys! This site has helped me SO much [IMG]

Thanks everyone!! We've got a total of 3 in 4 days so far. I can't wait for the others to start laying [IMG] also a question- the darker the chicken, the darker the egg? I've noticed a very, very slight difference in egg colors. Once is very slightly darker than the other. Maybe we've got 2 starting to lay? Only time will tell.

I still get so excited when I go out and ask the ladies, "Did you give me an egg today?" and then look inside and... yes! [IMG][IMG]

( More chicken stories on my blog, including a weekend chicken show, pumpkin pies and first eggs, that is if anyone is interested. http://www.zoeslovelylittlezoo.blogspot.com )

    Thanks again everyone!!!

Mei & Popcorn, you'll get eggs soon, believe me! Just keep counting up the weeks (they lay around 20wks old). I was only expecting eggs in about 2 weeks, but one of my girls decided to start early! It will all pay off once you bite into that first egg, they are SO delicious (and worth $300 in startup costs, truly!). You'll get there, be patient and your ladies will reward you [IMG]

lvchickens, I can't wait until my leghorn girl starts! I get such a serge of excitement whenever I see an egg in the coop [IMG]

Thanks for the kind words everybody! I lurve me chickens [IMG]
