This is what happens... We have peepers!

Night time is starting to come later and later here now. Soon we'll be seeing 10:30pm sunsets again. My kitchen is not very dark, unfortunately, so I have to wait for at least semi-dark before I can do a decent candle session.

I'm thinking day after tomorrow. There won't be much to see by now. Back to what I said earlier about the long days and long wait!
Wow I had no idea that it didn't get dark there until that late.
That is very weird to me. The things I learn on BYC.:th

Ireland is way up north. Close to Batty. :D
Summer days are endless here. And the flip side is winter days are very, very short. Sun sets at 04:00pm :( It took me much of the first 3 years here to get used to it!

I have a confirmed cool spot in my incubator and that really surprises me. Brinsea's incubators are generally excellent and this one's brand new. Forced air. I'm moving the eggs around as best I can to keep them all warm, but one specific spot leaves the egg cooler to the touch than the rest of them. I noticed this when I turn them. Once I get to tossing some eggs I'll leave that spot empty, but for now things are a little cramped in there, so I can't completely avoid it.

Perhaps since it's cramped the air is not circulating quite as it should

I did a quick candle tonight. Out of the 18 hen eggs, 1 seems to be developing, but slower than the rest, 2 are looking like they are not developing, 3 are "iffy" and the rest are showing strong little embryos and good veins. The ducklings were moving and looking great! Will take pics next time, I didn't want to leave the incubator open too long tonight.
