It is quite normal for her to be acting this way. When someone who is used to getting what they want is not able to convince you to give it to them, they get angry and lash out. She is very angry with you and thinks that if she threatens you or scares you enough that once again, she will get what she wants. Quite likely, she's not used to people standing up to her. She is in fact "bullying you" She will use what ever scare tactics she thinks will get her what she wants. You have done nothing wrong. Keep all the correspondence and log all the phone calls and visits. Call the local law officials and if it goes on too far you will have a basis to get a restraining order against her. Once this RO is logged against her, she will be more angry and will try to threaten you again. If for some strange reason it went to court (I don't believe for half a second that it would) you have all the paperwork and even the local cops would have it on record that you have filed complaints on this person.

Now you not only have to stand up for your rights and freedoms but also for the animals rights. You will be fine. It may not be easy but I'm confident that it will work out. She could just be blowing a lot of steam from her butt.

Make sure you take lots of pictures and document, document, document. If you can, you might want to keep track of the extra cost it takes to return this goose back to health. Post No Trespassing signs on your property. Contact the local authorities and let them know what is going on and that you fear potential retaliation, harassment, or threats. At least get it on record in case of any future incidents.

This woman did the right thing by returning the goose to you (tho she should have done it much sooner or not gotten one at all!) If she wanted a goose she could dress up, she should have bought one of those plastic lawn ornament ones!

Poor thing, hope she will be alright. sad to see people who try to make livestock their hosue pet like a kitten would be. just some things are best left in the barnyard.

I love my birds too but I know they are happier acting like they should....outdoors with the rest of the flock. Why is it people think that it's NOT ok to have a dog outdoors all the time...or a cat....but it's ok to keep a goose or chicken or duck....IN all the time??

and no, I am not trying to tick off anyone with an indoor bird....I just personally feel that they belong OUTside....and I know some on here truly spoil their indoor birds because they surely don't look like this poor goose! If you're going to make it a house pet...treat it decent at least!

Update!!!
Our poor girl is looking MUCH better! Finally getting a hint of yellow in her bill and feet- heck of a lot better than the grey! She's still dragging her wings most of the time, but she can hold them up for increasing increments. Phew! I will see if my pics came out in a bit.

This lady is an alleged animal hoarder- which I obviously did NOT know before I swapped the bird with her, but I am faily certain she has been in trouble with the critters in the past.
All is well that ends well- I am glad that little encounter is over!
