This is why we don't trade outside of our personally known group!!!

The govt is not "us" anymore.. not at all..

It is the majority of "us." Sometimes the majority does not reflect our own individual preferences. I know how that feels, too, because I have certainly experienced that during my lifetime.

REally it reflects the electoral college. And I do not believe they are for us either. I know this can be debated too.

Only a few times in history (four, as I recall) has the person who won the electoral college lost the popular vote. This does not include the current president, though.

Just read the article from the first post, that is just plain scary! I am an adult and I can make my own food decisions myself, I don't need a nanny or big brother to "look out" for me. It's obviously all about the money. They don't really care about our health.

i agree... when they are all in cahoots with one another it's hard to believe they have our health in mind. the ag industry and the pharmaceutical industry just parade around hand in hand.

The problem is ignorant and uninformed people making decisions about things they know nothing about. They donΒ’t pay attention and then vote for whoever had the best commercials. Then the politicians need to look like they are Β“doing somethingΒ” to earn their overinflated salaries so when something bad happens they all jump on it to Β“fixΒ” the problem.

Perfect example is the downer animal law. ONE cow in Washington State tested positive for Mad Cow. It was caught and did not even get into the food supply. Information gets out the cow was a Β“DownerΒ” ie: couldnΒ’t walk. People start screaming about letting Β“sickΒ” cows into the food supply. The next thing you know, it is now illegal for a slaughterhouse to butcher a downer animal. Go to any slaughterhouse and you will see animals with dull listless eyes and coats, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, open sores; they are fine. The one steer in the back of the trailer with clean bright eyes and no sores or sneezing but he got stepped on in transit and broke a hock- nope, heΒ’s a Β“downerΒ”.

The politicians all tout how they made the food supply Β“saferΒ”. All they did was increase costs. Too many people actually WANT someone to take care of them. The only thing to do is educate, inform and do your homework when voting.

A Government strong enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have.

With our government supplied plastic spoon because you wouldn't want someone to be able to poke you with a fork.

When did the "safety net" become a hammock?
