This little chick was trapped underneath a waterer

Hi. Ok, I work at Tractor Supply and we just got baby chicks in. Tonight I picked up the waterer in the pen and my coworker cryed out. I looked and the guy who watered them this morning had put the waterer on top of a chick. It was dead. Then I looked at the waterer which I had set down on the ground and there was another chick trying to get out from underneath it.

I hate tractor supply. They never do their chicks right. Most have pasty butt so bad. I was in my local tsc and pulled them out myself, and cleaned their butts. I must have been there 2 hours. The manager threatened to call the cops. I asked him to please call, and while they were at it, I would call the local humane society. It was horrible. They are better this year but, I hate the way they treat them.

I would get some electrolytes and vitamin powder for the water. They need what is in that powder. I get rooster booster brand. It's about 7 bucks in my area. Chick crumbles for feed. I give 20% protein to mine, and they do fine. Sugar water isn't going to give them the "extras" they need. This is what I do. Others may have better ways. Best of luck. I hope it works out. Good for you for taking the chick home.

Make sure what you give them is a good, natural brand of feed. The grainery is best but, Dumor makes a decent brand.

I don't know but, I haven't seen it as much. I can say that. I cleaned all those little chicks. My husband thought I had gotten lost. Lol. My heart wouldn't let me leave them. It was so bad.
