This thread is 4 MFB/his family the good man is home n wise#371 n 438

I've had a good day today. The best day as far as feeling better since this whole mess started. I got out in the yard a bit, had my boy hook up the wagon behind the mower and I drove and supervised while they moved feed and hay, burned some trash, cleaned up some junk around the house. Was quite nice riding around watching the younguns work.

I think the kids are praying the mower will run outta gas before they do.

I gathered eggs with my son today and we got our first Orloff egg.

The wife and I watched a movie on TV and had a nice dinner together. Got up to 81 degrees today, felt like summer after all the cold weather we've had. Just a great day to enjoy my family, the farm, the sunshine and just to enjoy and be thankful for my wonderful life!

I know I'm not out of the woods yet, and that it's going to be a long hard road to recovery, but I know I'll make it and I'll be a better husband, father, Pawpaw, friend and man because of it all. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger.

We've still GOT to get rid of about a hundred roosters, so Terra's gonna run a add in the local paper next week. She asked me what I was going to do then, after we sell all we are going to sell. When I told her I planned on getting better, cleaning up all the coops and pens then... Starting over buying new and better chickens.

She just rolled her eyes at me and gave me a big hug. Said I was Incorrigible (I think that's how you spell it). I'm not sure what it means, but I think it's got something to do with bein' smart & good lookin'

She's a good one, I guess I'll keep her.

Sounds like a wonderful day, MFB! Its a lesson that we ALL need to look around us and enjoy all we DO have and enjoy EVERY day we are blessed with. Keep on, keeping on, my friend.

MFB.
GLAD to hear that you are home and had a better day !!!

Are you sure that your Wife said "Incorrigible"?
(Maybe she said "Encourageable". She's probably flirting with you! )

I've found that my Heart works a lot better since I got to be a bit "Grumpier" and more of a "Curmudgeon" !
(Like Walter Matthau in those "Grumpy Old Men movies)
THAT's Really FUN !!! and it keeps people from coming around "visiting" all the time...just like GARLIC does.
"Garlic" is also GOOD for what ails ye. EASY to grow, also.

Ha-Ha !!! (just clowning with ya)

With THAT MANY Roosters....you could build a Grandstand and sell tickets to "Rooster Races".
(Probably be a good business and draw a lot of folks out to have fun and give you more Heart Trouble!)

Keep up the good attitude and expect recovery to be gradual, but steady. Celebrate each little gain you make. But, don't get impatient and "over-do" it too soon.

And, for goodness sake, Get GRUMPIER !!! It's good for "personal giggles" !

I hear ya, being grumpy is fun

But I have to be careful around the wife and not over do it. She's got that Injun temper and controls the vittles. She knows if I get too grumpy she can quit cooking and I get less grumpy real quick.! I might be the work truck of the family, but I know who's behind the wheel.

"she who controls the fried chicken contols my world"

Try smushed up corn flakes to cover your chicken with some parmegean cheese and onion powder and bake your chicken instead.

"Incorrigible"....yeah, sounds about right.

I stayed up all night coming up with a new fried chicken recipe that's heart healthy.
Here's a pic of the result:
