Dear Heavenly Father,
Watch over Ayden as his body begins to fight this infection and heal. Allow him some comfort and peace in knowing he will be ok and that Jesus will make him better. He is surrounded by love and caring parents and friends and family...and may those who have tarried with him through this whole ordeal be given rest and comfort in knowing that their son will overcome this. A new day will dawn and they will wake up refreshed and each day will get better and better day by day, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
I just saw a thing on tv the other day about how the bacteria can enter the smallest cut. Watch him closely and transfer to childrens if he doesnt get better. Ive had emergencies with my youngest, I know its so stressful. Try to rest when you can so you can be there for him. Take care of him and if you have to give up the chicks you can always start over later. My thoughts to you.
Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. For sure... there is only one Aydan! I've had Aydan since he was 3 days old. He's my youngest adopted child. He was a drug baby and has already had to deal with so much in his little life. He is truely a blessing to my husband and I. Though we'll both be older than dirt by the time we get him raised, I know that God placed this little man in our lives for a reason. He is a beautiful child and my heart aches for him and the pain he is having to deal with. I have seen him smile several times this afternoon... God is already answering prayers!
His fever spiked a little this afternoon and scared us all. He has a tick bite on his abdomen in which the staph infection has spread. This is the second surgery they are considering. Though a simple procedure, they want to take him back to surgery to lance this area (below his navel) to drain and clean it. it means putting my baby back under anethesia. HE has asthma really bad and doesn't deal well with the meds they use to put him to sleep. We're just waiting to see what happens tonight. A decision will be made in the morning. Another doctor is coming in to consult.
Who would ever think that a simple boo-boo could cause so much pain and sickness? Here's a photo of my Aydan!
I'm sorry to read this - the poor little guy! I'm so glad that you were able to get him the help he needed in a timely manner. I'll be praying for healing for him!
I'm not sure if they've tested him for Lymes Disease or not yet. They've taken a lot of blood and running a lot of tests. I actually had Lymes Disease a couple of years ago myself and could not believe how sick I became over a tick bite. I've been a little paranoid of tick bites ever since.
