City allows three hens without a permit. I got me four chicks (just in case something happens to one--which at 4 weeks old now isn't a very likely scenario now and none are looking like roos). So i guess I'm going outlaw with four.

Also my lot is only 50' by 100'. Pretty typical lot size in this town.
