Same breeder that believes Thor is a male. He may not know how to sex peafowl as well. He has raised the same varieties (IB, BS, White, Silver Pied, Pied, Purple, and Cameo) for 30 years. There has never been a Spalding or Green peafowl near his peafowl. He got his peafowl from McMurray Hatchery. They don't screw up orders.

I have gotten birds from them threw the years,
They hatch eggs not raise the birds that lay them, i have gotten birds from more than one hatchery including them where i got birds that obviously been mix, i got mallards from a hatchery that had tuffed offspring and i got tuffed Romans that hatched out a baby that was gray and white and tuffed romans do not come in the color gray and white.

Untill i got peafowl and guineas every bird i got came from a hatchery so i have had some good ones and some with something added.

You never know what ya don't know

When it comes to Spalding peafowl there is a trait that always shows up unless bred mostly out of the bird. I looked at McMurray Hatchery and when you order from them people don't have a choice on the variety of peafowl and you have to order 8. If you go in store you can get or at least you could get specific varieties of peafowl and however many you want

Any IB that has a single drop of green blood is a spalding and yes it can very how they look but just like anything else a blooper can hatch if it is in the bloodline. I am not calling your pretty a spalding i just said she is colored like my spalding which i think is pretty because it is different.

Alright, Kathy, are you ready?
In 1875, the noted American explorer Dr. Stanley confirmed the source of which famous Egyptian waterway?

(cue irritating music...)

I sold some chicks thru Craigslist this past summer. A gentleman from a neighboring county bought 8 of them, I did not hatch any IB, and this guy wanted IB, he was buying them to resell. He has a website and advertises himself as a breeder and dealer of rare and exotic poultry. Long story short, the closest I had to IB were some IB spaldings 50/50 genes, I explained that they were not pure IB but would look mainly like IB due to the low % of green. Of course I kept an eye on his site and he advertised them and sold them as pure IB. Does anyone really think the same could not happen to or from Murray McMurray?
