The one in the doorway is a b/s hen,in front of her slightly to the right is a IB b/s male,to the left of him,front and center is an ib hen,closest up front to the left looks to be an ib.possibly pied hen,behind her to the back corner is another IB/BS hen,and to the right of her,between both b/s hens looks to be a ib male,possibly pied

If you check out some of her pics in the show off your peas thread you might change that ib male to a bs male, possibly pied. Its hard to see in this pic, but both boys seem to have that BS juvenile color/pattern.

I wasn't followig that thread but went and looked,,yes the other male appears to be b/s in those pics,and the one hen is pied that has a few white feathers on her back and the white throat latch.Four of these birds should have been yellow when hatched,

Sounds like we agree, Margaret8 has 2 nice trios there, if they're not all out of the same clutch that is.

In all seriousness I would like to express a couple of opinions based upon the wretchedly laughable continuation of this thread:

1. I do believe that lack of protein intake during the laying season can cause the curled feet and toes issue. This is an issue when people collect the eggs and make the hens produce the maximum number of eggs she will produce. We do that. Increasing our protein content last year cured the problem in all but the last 50 or so eggs.

2. Humidity, I believe, or lack thereof, during incubation is the other big cause of curled toes and feet. Not so experienced with this.

3. If anyone thinks that mice cannot exist with peafowl, you need to come down here. There ain't no way on gods green earth that we can get rid of all the mice. I don't lose any peafowl to the mice. Peafowl will kill the mice, however. At one time we used lots of the closed traps. Then we witnessed a peahen killing a mouse. Now we actually flood the underground nests on a regular basis as the only control.

Thank you for letting them know that mice don't hurt them. If you think you can get rid of mice away from your peafowl. I'm more worried about bigger things like foxes, coyotes especially the alpha coyote that's around us, it's a mix between German Shepard and coyote, and raccoons. Mice at least they kill them and I clean the water and food bowl so I'm not so worried about the mice. There is no way peafowl and a mouse never come in counter with each other. What about the free ranging peafowl? There are millions of mice and rats lets try and kill them. When I incubate eggs if the chick develops not one chick has died on me. Some eggs though have nothing in them except really stinky yolk. These are the birds I've hatched with my incubator. Kocoum, Kuzca, Kiarha

Mallards never named them because I released them for all I know they might be dead when they migrated

Out of all of those I only have Kenia and Kida. Rather I released the bird and never saw them again or a predator would take them like Daffy. Daffy died Christmas day because a coyote went through chicken wire and killed him and left him on my porch. The other three Indian Runner ducks are now in California. Coco just died along with Aurora.
