Well it sounds like you have plenty of room for more unless the 200 acres is grown up with brush, mine do not venture much in the grown up Fields unless they are harassing something that they deem a trespasser then they pay no mind as to where they are, they got a one track mind when it comes to trespassers.

I have mine in pens. I want to free range but am so afraid they will get killed we get all the strays people drop off like dogs cats and even a goat. So I don't know if they would make it

she looks purple blackshoulder to me. IB BS has some green feathers in the brown patch giving a green tint to it.

Thank you, Yes I have 2 that have the green feathers. I bought a straight run from cackle hatchery, so I just thought she was black shoulder. I am so excited I can place her with my purple male, maybe I will get purples.

Zaz, so give me some advice. Where did you find the guinia eggs? I find them like of lying all over the place! Then I found a nest under some cedar trees next to their pen. A male that would not leave was guarding her. I would not have seen her but for him. Any other suggestions?

Not all IB BS hens have the green in that brown patch. I have 4 of them and 2 have the green and 2 have only brown.

You can place any color female with your purple male and all of the female chicks will be purples. Males split to purple and other colors or patterns that you use.
