Oh so I will know when they are born if they are purple. The man showed me a purple chick and how to tell but it was last summer so not sure I will remember what they look like. The hen he is with has been his mate for 3 years but he said it was just every once in a while that he got a purple. So I have just as good a chance with leaving her as putting the other one in? Thanks genetics are way above me at this point:lol:

I hatched 2 purple hens from shipped eggs last year and I could definitely tell a difference. More of a light reddish brown color than the other chicks. Here is a pic of one of them in front of a spalding, ignore the white flights she is obviously split but the rest of her has the reddish brown color of a purple.

Because the neck feather shape is completely different between sexes. Jadea wants back to her nest and Calypso says no. Calypso must be the dominant if she's trying to pick fights with birds twice her size. Calypso would try to bite Jadea. Thor does have some barring on his shoulder. Never seen a hen with random barring on the shoulder.

In the corner you can see some barring I will draw and arrow if you need me to.
Something just for fun. His train is finally about 5 feet long.

Those are hen feathers and my hen has more than yours

Birdbrain, I double dare you to post this picture on the UPA facebook page and ask people there what sex she is. No hints or suggestions, just post the picture and ask.

Not talking about the barred bar feathers that hens have I'm talking the shoulder. I've yet to see a hen with barring in those areas.
