Thought this was a brown leghorn until she started laying brown eggs

She’s very pretty, but I thought that black sexlink pullets were solid black. Silly me. I was very confused, because mine is starting to get the gold lines on her feathers like the chicken here.

A lot of BSLs have red/gold leakage on their hackles/chest.

Simple but awesome hybrid breed. They are the result of a RIR roo and a barred rock hen. Copious layers of large brown eggs, beautiful and great personalities

As far as I know, Leghorns have white earlobes. I have some Brown Leghorns. They have the white earlobes and lay white eggs. Or ... will, when they start laying again, lol.

I'm so excited to know what she is! 4 days, 4 eggs so far! She's the only one.... The rest are getting their pay docked for slacking on the job....

She probably is a leghorn. their first eggs are often brown and will become smooth and white!
