Hi!

We currently have:
Amy (8mo Buff Orpington)
Shadow (8mo Barred Rock)
Knuckles (11w Black Copper Maran Pullet
Tails (11w Crested Cream Legbar Pullet)
Lola (11w Light Brahma Pullet)
Curly (11w Olive Egger- Cuckoo Maran x Cream Legbar Pullet)
Larry (11w Black Copper Maran Cockerel- he’s going to a new home this weekend.. but he’s cool)

I know with age and egg color can change things, and the olive egger wouldn’t ever be a show bird, but would love to hear your thoughts on the whole flock. Any DQs so far in this bunch? And why? Thanks in advance!

I’m afraid I don’t have good news. They are hatchery birds.
Your barred Plymouth Rock doesn’t look like a Plymouth Rock, which is typical of hatchery birds. She is too small for the breed, has brownish, undefined barring.
Your Orpington isn’t as large and golden as the breed ought to be, but she is closer.
Hatchery Brahmas never have the size of Standard Brahmas.
The Legbar doesn’t have correct cream and barred coloring.
The Marans are hard to judge at this stage.
No hatchery birds will meet the Standard of Perfection. I don’t if they would be disqualified though, since judges don’t weigh birds. They would just be put to the bottoms of their classes.

Haha thank you! I still love them with all of their quirks. We had 40 birds and narrowed it down to these based on personality. I would love to see how all of these breeds really “should” look.
