Thousand Dollar Egg

I'm about an hour and a half from Paducah on the Mississippi river close to New Madrid.

I've been getting about 4 eggs each day from 4 hens that are laying. Yesterday, however, was a special day. One of my CA whites started laying (20 weeks). There was just something odd and exciting about looking in the box and finding a white egg after so many brown eggs, LOL.

Going to the nest box never gets old.

NEWS FLASH: Well the suspect hen has now been identified as "Ollie" the Silver Ameraucana hen after laying the second Blue egg, which of course has now reduced the cost to $500 per egg.

Initially I wasn't sure if we were in the "fryer" or the egg business, but that has now been cleared up.
