Thread for drone owners.

I'm holding-out for the DJI Neo & the "motion fly more fpv combo" with the new N3 goggles.
Well, the "motion fly more fpv combo" never came out in the US, so I finally gave in and got the DJI Neo with 3 batteries.

It should arrive in a day or so, and in the interim I'm 3D printing some bits to go on it. :)

Mostly I'll be using it for shots of the house, and fun shots out and about. Maybe in the future I'll get the motion controller and goggles for FPV.

Did it come out in any other countries? Trip to Canada?

Did you get the drone? How is it?

Not that I know of... and I could only find them it on kinda sketchy sellers, so I decided against it.

I got the Neo fly-more pack. It worked ok. I like how robust it is and easy to use (especially without a phone / remote).

I connected it to my phone, but it seemed really buggy. There was always a delay, height was SUPER limited, and it kept forcing auto-landing that I had to keep stopping.

So, I got the N3 remote the next day and it works REALLY well.

My biggest complaint right now is how CRAZY loud it is.

... like, SUPER loud!

But, it gets the job done (mostly to take pics of the property and development next door).

Today I embanked on a project... and I'm feeling pretty proud of my inventive / electronic skills right now!

About 10 years ago I bought a bunch of SUPER cheap FPV stuff from China, including some super cheap drones. They were REALLY hard to fly, so I put everything in a box and it sat in the garage since.

Well, I cannibalized a bunch of the bits, had to hack-together a bunch of stuff to get it all to work, but I was able to put my old FPV camera and goggles to use on my DJI Neo. I flew it all around... pretty fun!

It's all just a proof-of-concept right now (which is why it's such a mess).

So, now I need to decide if I want to clean up all the wiring and 3D print proper housings/connectors, or if I dive fully into FPV and get the DJI goggles and motion remote.
