OMG I just went out to check on the ducks and little Eddie had his head stuck between the rails of the cage. I thought he was a goner. I don't even want to think about what would happen if I hadn't gone out when I did.

He's back inside his indoor brooder now. I swear, whooda thunk that one.

good morning/afternoon everyone. I let my ducks and chickens out of their section of the yard to "mow" my backyard. They were having fun running around and eating bugs and grass. They mostly have a mud pit in their area since they ate it down to the nubs and we had a ton of rain in the last few weeks.

What state are you in? I can't remember! These kids have sucked my brain cells...

I'm glad Eddie is ok!

Thank you. My heart just automatically sank. There are always freak accidents going on with poultry. At least now I know that Eddie can jump up, stick his head through something, get it stuck AND stand on his tippy toes.

If you guys didn't know... Ducks have tippy toes.

I live on the coast so it usually is fairly narrow temperature range, but it has been getting into the 20s or so at night when we don't have the cloud cover and highs into the 50s. We have had a lot of hard frost warnings and flood advisories in the last couple of months. In the summer the highs are usually 70s-80s.
