You guys were busy. I had to feed the dugs and cats too. And then go out and put the girls ( ducks) to bed, but they were already in their house. I just had to close the door and bungie the tarp shut.

And cheering for all the eggs! Fingers are crossed.

Stillmecle, have you had any pip the shell yet? The hole they make can be tiny - just a little bump on the shell. Are you able to examine the eggs through the incubator window with a torch?

No I have not seen any holes not even a tiny one. I have a great LED light that can usually see through anything. No holes. I wish there was.

Anybody else having any luck?

Cool, wish my ducks would do that! Are all your ducks laying?

Man I cannot type on this phone tonight to save my life. I can't belueve the typos there. Duckgirl, my Buff and Cuyaga are still laying. But no drake to fertilize. I have 6 eggs waiting to go in when I can open incubator. My Buff lays 2 eggs every morning. If she doesn't, I worry. I thought they would have stopped with this cold weather.

Just read through the whole thread...

So, Stillmecle - on Saturday you had eggs wiggling (Day 28). Yesterday you had internal pipping. Today you have cheeping and peeping. Your humidity is about 80. You have put the temp up to 101.

I'd say that at the moment they are resting.

Noting the temp of 101 - How confident are you that your incubator thermometer is accurate? I ask because the temp at hatch should be about 96.5 or 98.6 (a bit lower than during incubation). The ducklings generate a lot of heat as they struggle to get out of the egg and you don't want them overheating. BUT if your thermometer is reading a bit high then your temp might actually be correct on a about 98.6 even if it's reading 101. So - do you know if it is reading accurately? I know you were thinking that the temp may have beenm low throughout the incubation, which woudl explain the later hatch....

I wouldn't put the humidity up any more - 80 is plenty.

On the Incubating and Hatching thread they said that with a still air incubator my temp should be up to 101.5. I have a digital thermometer that was tested with another digtal before going in the incubator. Should I lower the temp alittle? My humidity is at around 70-75.
