Gonna be leaving in a few minutes to go get some Marans eggs! I must be a crazy chicken lady if I'm driving 2 hours south to go get some chicken eggs. I'm gonna see if he has a few juviniles he might part with, if not at least I will have eggs that have not been scrambled by the USPS. I'm gonna take my camera because he said he would show me the birds the eggs are out of so I'm super excited.....

Good morning, hatching friends!

I am excited to report I found 5 toulouse goose hatching eggs! They are being shipped to me on Monday, and I am going to also buy Celtic's african eggs so I have 10 eggs to set. I'm gonna hatch some more adorable goslings!! Have I mentioned how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE my goslings??

Someone was asking where to get Anconas a few pages back... I'm going to get ducklings from Boondockers this spring. They got Holderread's stock.

Hey Christine R!! I've heard of boondockers. I got hatching eggs from Heritage Turkey/Plum Run Poultry... but I've had "issues" with communication with them. So I should have probably gone with Boondockers.

The yolk in candled eggs is usually right there in the middle. What are you hatching?

QJ: She got the same set of "take a chance" ancona eggs as me. We both received broken eggs from them hitting each other... but have set the remaining eggs together. It does not look hopeful upon initial candling.

What color was the duck? I hear anconas come in a variety of colors. Do you have a pic?

Mojo is a rouen Ancona x mother was the ancona He turned out looking like a black swedish he's all black with a white bib and he had beetle green wing tips like a Rouen I'll get pictures up soon I'm on my phone right now. But he came out of a greenish blue egg.
