Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

regualrs are about 6-9ish. Giants are 12-15lbs. Same adult rate, but Giants have better grain to weight ratio - cost less get more. BIG eggs, like small geese! Very upright.

I'm going to dinner with DH. Szhuean Beef EXTRA EXTRA hot! They can't make it too hot, but I keep asking them to try! LOL I love hot peppers soooo much.

Seriously! It's brutal! I just worry the whole time. Because of my past hatches.

But I have 4 pipped black javas and 2 are starting to zip. 2 are pipping at the wrong end.

Whats with you, and chicks piping at the wrong end?

OK, pip is when the baby breaks through the membrane, and external pip is when they break through the shell. and zip/ziping is when they start REALLY hatching... do i have this right?

Hey everyone!

Just got home, looked in the bator and I've already got 4 of 5 chickies externally pipped! It's day 19!!!

QJ - Poor poor girl. Are you going gray yet??

Jaz - I sell duck eggs, eat duck eggs, and use ducks to be organic pest control - and they don't peck tomatoes!

Baking - Oh yeah, gotta love spice. I think I'd go shopping too. How old is little man?

congrats qj

stupid teenage roosters chased my broody off her nest and were after her.
but i rescued her and got her settled back on the nest.
she was only off for a moment or 2.
she was clucking real quiet.
she was either A. soothing her eggs.
of B. complaining about naughty roosters and how rotten they were

My broody that I set up earlier today came off her "eggs" already. Sure am happy we've got a backup plan!
