Definitely hoping for a girl. Yeah, bummer that you can only show blues.... Stoopid, really. However I have been told by a judge that you could put a black and silver pair into the 'breeding pairs' section since they'd produce the Standard colour (i.e. blue) and so make sense as a breeding pair. I have a black drake and a silver duck so I might even try this at some stage.

Just need a show big enough to have a breeding pairs section (as opposed to single ducks). As it happens, next year the National Poultry Show is going to be held in the town I live in. There will be over 4000 birds there. They will definitely have a waterfowl pairs section. Might put the black and silver birds in! Hadn't thought of that before our conversation...how exciting. You are full of inspration, DG

im so excited!

My "ducklings" look like mini monsters

they look like ducklings only 3x bigger! but their wings never grew.

but they are sweet little things. I love them to bits!
And they dont run when I pet them anymore

They're so funny with their ridiculous little wings. Mine have wing feathers that are about two thirds grown and they love to flap. "Look at these things I grew all by myself!!!".
