Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I have 7 babies with holes in their shells. One was struggling really hard. Its beak was stuck in the hole it was chewing on. Its poor little beak was stuck open. So I stepped in and just gently peeled some of the shell off. Its a blondey!!!!!!! Bright bright yellow feathers. I have been spraying from with warm water so they don't dry out. It looks like one or two might be really drying out or they are almost shrunk wrapped under that shell. I will just wait and see what happens with them. My cats and dogs can hear them peeping. My fox terrier will go in the bedroom and then come out and bark at me until I go in and sit with her on the bed and watch them move around. She loves watching them. Might have babies tonight.

Well, when I went and picked up the bunnies yesterday there were 2 older (8 week old) purebred flemish giants there too. I really didn't want 3 bunnies, and I'd already picked out the little one when I saw the big ones so I didn't want to put her back. Well, hubby told me they were going to give the other 2 to someone to use for meat rabbits.

So, after dealing with my 2 year old wanting to hold and squish the little ones I went back today and got a big one.

Forgot to add, the little one's are 5 weeks, the big one 8 weeks. Big old difference, huh?
