Aaaaaghhhh!!

Just went to turn my eggs for the morning, thinking I'd be turning for the last time tomorrow evening. Expecting hatchers on Wednesday.. THIS is what I saw in seven out of eight!

Lockdown: Initiated!! I will NOT have a troubled hatcher this time..

Troughs filled, wet towels in place, no more opening.. promise!

We've the same problem, turned ours for the last time this morning & ours looked like this!! They were all moving last week!!
One of them did pip and there is a small crack in the other - humidity is only 67,
what does is usually mean when they look like this??

Yes, mine started rocking last night too! Not
Often but if you sit and watch you'll see one give a STRONG kick! I honestly don't know that they'll hatch "early" though, we will see.

When they look like.. My pic? That means they are working on "internal pip", which is the beginning of their hatch process work. That is when they start pushing through the internal membrane and break into the air cell where they start breathing air and the next step is the external pip, which is what you're seeing on yours now.

I like to boost my humidity by keeping the troughs full and also by adding a few folded washcloths soaked to the point of dripping in warm water. May help you. We are also having VERY wet weather here in GA which is nice I think. Come to think of it my last eggs hatched during a nice rain. Wonder if they can tell? ;)

After 28 long days I have had my first batch of eggs hatch. I am the proud mommy of 10 little call duck babies. My daughter got to watch the first 2 hatch which was really neat. This was my first time hatching eggs and what a neat experience.

Just been reading some of the other posts on this thread & feel like its gonna be a looooong week!!!
This is the first time we've hatched duck eggs.
They aren't due to hatch for another 3 days but after hearing a faint chirp this morning and seeing a small crack in another egg I'm now sat impatiently at the side of the incubator

Daisy duck has a bad limp at the moment so she's been brought indoors for some rest - so at least I've some company to watch the eggs with me!!

That's good you have Daisy at least she may understand your obsession with the bator.

Wow sounds like a lot of us were expecting Wednesday babies.. Also sounds like lots of them are trying to make early arrivals!!
I'm expecting Friday babies and they're looking to come early as well! I've got to get this chick hatch wrapped so I can prep to lockdown again!

We're overrun with cute fuzzy things over here. Fingers crossed that they go away as fast as they hatched like the last batch. I'm going to have some keepers out of this lockdown and the next one.

ok, need advice... my eggs are developing that have wiggly air cells....so, i cut a sponge to prop the eggs on that holds them at about a 45 degree angle, is there anything else i can do to give them a better chance? anyone??

Thank you I adore them they come running when they hear me or my daughter talk to them. I started with 13 eggs. I'm excited to see what their colors are. I got them from a lady on here named Alicia who lives not too far from me. I have 12 East Indies due to hatch in 11 days hope it goes as well.

how cute!!! how many did you put in the incubator to get 10?? and where did you get your eggs? looks like you got a nice variation of color... congrats!!
