I live in WA where it rains all the time & ducks uhhh LUV water + dirt = mud
So its like keeping a pair of white pants clean vs a dark pair

..... They also (hush hush) am told make a great dual purpose meat/egg duck.

And they lay black eggs at the beginning of egg laying season.

I think the cayugas are like my black muscovys at first I thought oh black boring.... but then when you see the iridescence they are spectacular and that sheen doesn't show up well in photos.

At least with ducks they love to bathe. My chickens were gross when I first got them so I had to give them a bath and none of us were happy about that

Ok, Ok, you have talked me into it. I guess I will be FORCED to get the Cayugas AND the chocolate runners. I mean, I hate it that I have to do that.. but if I must.


Actually, they are all in my cart right now. It's saying Feb 22 for a ship date. I don't know if I can be that patient.

Yep. I love my ancona in the sunlight, she turns all shiny.

That's why I'm getting black east indies. That sheen is just sooo pretty.
