Happy new years. And here's my new year's baby. I had to help him out, he pipped last night and made no progress for over 24 hours. Since quail go faster than anything I helped him out a few minutes after midnight. I think he was just shrink wrapped. There wasn't a drop of blood, i opened the shell up for him and he slid out easy peasy. He's in the incubator for a few hours to fluff up and get his feet. I'm not sure if he's an early hatcher or if my other eggs are dead. They aren't making a siund but some of the eggs were a day behind so

We have no power in our house tonight.

its so windy out it probably snapped a line somewhere close by. Its been about 3 hours now. I threw some blankets to them to cuddle up in. I worry about them because they are losing that baby down and are getting their youth feathers so it is really cold for them.

I spent about 4 hours at the hospital tonight for pains in my back. They said I have kidney stones trying to form. Yeah for me. My daughter went too but they kept her. She has a 5 km stone. Well exciting on the homefront tonight already for the start of 2012.

"Merry Chrismas and Happy New Year to you! Hope you had a great holiday.

I do have some of the original line of midget whites! They came from the college that gave them away! I don't have an extra male at this time but when they have young ones I can help them out."
