That is ironic. I bought a mixed batch of eggs from the lady selling the SFH eggs for my NYD hatch. It was for 8, but she sent 9 and despite the USPS trying to scramble them and them coming 2900 miles, 5 hatched.

I obviously don't have JZ's talent when it comes to taking pictures. The little buggars just wouldn't hold still.

The one on the far right is supposed to be a SFH.

That is ironic? How crazy! There is a mixed batch on there too. But I was worried about taking my chances on getting the flowers.

The group I bid on was for 8, with at least 3 SFH eggs. She sent 9, w/4 SFH, but one was dented and badly cracked and one had a hairline crack. I waxed both of those. The one that hatched was out of the hairline cracked one. The one badly cracked did not hatch (no surprise), one was clear and the 4th started, but quite I think about half way through. One egg was supposed to be a Cubalaya, but hatched out with feathered legs and 5 toes.

(Me thinks there was a Silkie mixup), but that's OK, I've wanted to get some Silkies. The little one with the white eyebrows (do chickens have eyebrows?) also has feathered legs and 5 toes and is the cutest thing, but not very photogenic. Keeps trying to hide under one of the other ones. Lol. I think the white is also part Silkie but has clean legs and normal toes. The fifth one is BCMx, and I hope they are all hens!!!

So would you say it was a good experience? Or would you be less inclined to buy again.

I''m just straight down south from you (a few hundred miles, give or take). Do you know if their eggs are as dark brown? (Do I really care when they look like that! NO!!!)

I like the pied ones. Too bad they are so loud. I'd probably have to build a taller fence or not let them free range if I ever got them too. Still, they'd be fun to hatch. Have you seen vulturine guineas? http://www.leggspeafowl.com/Vulturine.htm
