Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Have you seen this incubator?

Now you can watch Mother Nature’s Magic as eggs hatch before your eyes. This scientifically designed styrofoam incubator weighs about 8 pounds, is 18” x 18” x 7-1/2”, draws 25 watts, 110 volt A.C. The Circulated Aidr Flow Model (with fan) makes incubating eggs more reliable. The air flow permits the incubator to be operated at one temperature for all sizes of eggs and climate conditions. It holds a more uniform temperature.

New this year, the Full View Electronic model comes with an electronic thermostat. This thermostat comes with a built in fan and is so accurate you will not have to set the temperature. New design allows for setting of larger eggs such as goose without the use of an expansion ring.

Incubators should be in a room where the temperature doesn't change much, and located in an area where there aren't fans, air conditioners, or heat vents blowing directly on the incubator. This helps the incubator stay at a more uniform temperature inside.

Approximate egg capacity without turner: 200 Quail, 90 Pheasant or Chukar, 70 Chicken, 40 Turkey or Duck.

The Full View Incubator has many options; choose from the list above for the model that is right for you. Full View Incubators include clear plastic liner and thermometer.

Free: With this incubator purchase we will include the book "A Guide to Better Hatching."

Yes! This is my first hatch and I had 12 in there!!! And they were shipped eggs with all kinds of air cell problems too!! I know one more is alive, that is the one we are discussing. The last one I am not sure about. Never pipped. It had a really bad air cell problem. I might go pip it and take a peek. I kinda doubt it made it though.

NO WAY! How many eggs do you have? and is this your first time hatching?

I just checked on him! I saw his little bill at the hole! So, he must not be too bad, right? I'm gonna check on that other egg, see if it is alive.

Ewwww. Smell it first. And then candle it. And then smell it again.. And then put it up to your ear.. and then smell it again. And then candle again..

Hahaha!! I started with a small hole (like an external pip). It didn't move or squeak or anything. I made the hole a bit bigger. The membrane was quite stuck down. It did not ever turn itself. It was dead. :( But heh, 11 out of 12 ain't bad, eh??

why not just clip their wings? Oh and I don't know about that incubator. I can't find a name to look for reviews.

McMurry usually pinions the wings on the Mandarins so you don't have to have a net. which I can't put up. the incubator is the new Hovabator -
catalog # 250B Full View Incubator W/Fan
I think it is model 1588 by Hova-Bator

Ok folks, I opened it to get a pic!! The one egg was dead, the last one is still working...might have to help it. BUT...Here is a pic of the other 10. Not a great pic. I promise better pics later!! :) The kids are chomping at the bit to get them out and hold them. Trying to hold them off for a bit. My resolve won't last too long though! ;)
