Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

how old are your girls?

YAY! a ancona!!! maybe i should send julies eggs back with you??.... oh wait... your going back threw nashville.....

I can take Julie's eggs back. She lives 30 mins from me. My girls: McKulla is 8 (animal lover, you will love her), Maris is 3 (wild child) and MariAlice is 1, (super sweet baby). They will be SO excited. Mainly the 8 yr old. :) She's the duck girl.

G'night Jaz!
DG_ I'm sure the eggs would be ok on a car trip. They survive through worse being shipped, and the weather should be ok in mid march.
I found someone who wants my turkey hen. She wants to breed midget whites, so I told her to pm you QJ to get the contact info for that guy, so don't be surprised if you get a pm from someone asking about turkeys.

I guess she's been looking for some forever.

SM promised me she would get on tomarrow, so you can tell her then ;)

One last question and I simply must sleep! ;)
How important is chick grit at this stage? I don't have any. I didn't think about it because my other ducks were 3 weeks when I got them and were already outside. I do live in FL, so if they need it right now, I can get some sand from the yard? Do they need it now, or just soon?

How cute, I love the M names. Mine are all lyns, lol. Evelyn, Cara Lynn, Lauralyn. I had a Madelyn too, but she passed away.

Evie'll be 7 in a few weeks, Lala 1 in a few weeks, and Cara (my wild child) is 2, so they're pretty close in age too. We should meet up at that deanna rose place when it gets warmer with the kids.

They don't need grit as long as they are eating chick/gamebird/duck/whatever food. They just need grit when you start giving other food, like treats.

Absolutely. In fact, I was already planning on that one.

Also, I'm sorry for your loss. My mom lost a baby, my brother, and she still struggles with that sometimes. 30 years later.
