Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I only work 9 days a fornight, so I have every second Friday off. Plus I just had 3.5 weeks of leave (people generally take their long holiday in summer, which is it here). We get 4 weeks of leave per year from employers (that's the minimum standard for a full time worker).

I had to google the word "fornight". Just FYI.

I wish spring would hurry up so I can get started on my call duck pen. It's been nice lately, but my luck as soon as I get ready to start we'll get another cold snap.

I know! Starting tonight from what I heard. I'm soooo jonesin' to get out to my dad's and get started on what I call my "designated area".

How well to calls fly? Like mallards? Or like real birds and they can fly away.

ROFL. I spelled it wrong though. It's 'fortnight'. Don't you have a word for 'fortnight'?
I wondered if you spelled it wrong or if it had lexicalized. Google says it means "every two weeks"... so if that's true, our word for that is "every two weeks". LOL.

Or maybe bi-weekly.
