Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I have a Ryobi flashlight, the kind that takes a battery that powers a drill. So mine is pretty powerful, but it's got a big surface area and I have to cup my hand perfectly around it to see. I also like it because I can just recharge the battery instead of constantly replacing them.

But I can't see in these stupid DARK chicken eggs!
Its not a really small flashlight but it is powerful. I have an actual candler too but my flashlight works better, It is an LED with 150 Lumia, which the guy at True Value said is really powerful. I can see through those little german chicken orange and green eggs I have.

How do you see bullseyes without cracking them open?
I had a lot of calls start but not ever get past day 3 or so. Was just figuring it's cause they were shipped, and probably got too cold somewhere too.

I don't see bulleyes in mine, I see a red dot and then after that the veining starts. Right now my goose eggs red dot is the size of the tip of my index finger.

I mean I started seeing the red bullseye with the black dot in the middle. With a little movey ducky in there. It was clear as day in 6 out of 8 but now I'm not seeing it as clearly.
I'm charging the battery now though.Maybe my flashlight is getting dimmer, AND I had the garage light on.

I just need to settle down.

Mine fits almost perfect over the egg. and I can see almost EVERYTHING!! It takes 3 C batteries and I have had them in since my first hatch. And I would candle ALOT. I love to candle the eggs. I am really addicted to candling.

The only thing I hate about candling is opening and closing the incubator, it loses ALOT of heat. Just like when I turn the eggs. It will drop down to sometimes 85 it takes so long to get everybody turned.

Did you notice that celticoaksfarm is selling silver appleyard eggs on the forum? I got 3 of my African eggs from her.

I shouldn't have used the word "bullseye". I should have said, "the red, little circle spot thingy."

Ok, that makes sense. That's what I saw in lots of my call eggs, but then nothing in most after a few days.

I want some silkie eggs, but think I'm waiting until spring before I try having eggs shipped again. Plus they'll be laying more so more to pick from. Or find a rooster, which is easy, then hatch my own.
