Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I know you probably already done this but posting on the BYC buy sell trade thread may give you a drake silky, so sorry for your losses.
I hadn't gotten around to it yet but I sure will. Thanks Miss Lydia

Hi everyone, long time no talk to! It's been a year ago this week when I found this thread and was trying to hatch my 1st set of cayugas. My goodness how time flies and things change. However, I think fondly back on the fun times I had chatting on this thread, so I wanted to stop by to wish you Happy Holidays!

I still love this thread, but it is slow right now for sure. This was the first thread I got "hooked" on, and back in early february when I started on BYC, I was trying to hatch the elusive giant peking, the only one ever hatched was Lucky, and Iain, you and I were up all night on our assisted hatches! Also, back then, we added on like 14 PAGES a day! I'd get home from work, and it would take an hour to catch up. LOL

the fact that both of them are moblie (of sorts) and are eatting again is a testment to the care they are receiving

Hatching isn't as far away as it sounds...

I think the white africans are gonna be my first breeder/layers. He's all up everyones business, and thinks he's head gander of the entire flock! You can tell he's the oldest, he acts like a macho man. Its his job to fuss at baby for not standing, and fuss at the buffs for not moving fast enough, and its his pool, not the sebbies.

your Africans should the most eggs of the three breeds. Watch the older ganders as they can do some serious intimidation to young ganders and keep them from breeding.

Almost January, have all of you up north made your pens and plans for separating the breeds of geese you have? They need 30 days of separation before first eggs are laid. Many of you can expect eggs in February, so January splitting into breeding pairs and trios will be a must.

That is cool about your gander, Marty. He has a strong personality. The white gander I wound up with is also starting to take charge of his little group too. Hubby has taken a liking to him and asked me the other day I would be ok with him being shown next spring.
