well i took a look at the live link at just the right time. the little guy is just out....

Any, do you have swans? My DD (dear daughter) Julia, age 7, selected a swan as her replacement birds when last Nov. double husky attack took out about 2G worth of birds, all of hers included.
I'd love to have a pair, honestly, and my husband and I have debated getting rid of ducks entirely, and maybe turkeys, to make them space. I've already got the pond. I do worry about them with my kids, but Julia is the youngest and extremely cautious around geese and turkeys already, so I doubt she'd go it. We have white and black swans both at our local zoo, and the girls are familiar with their affinity for fingers.

They are lovely though, don't you think? I'd LOVE to have a pair.

I never owned them personally, but I worked on several farms that did and I've dealt with wild ones most of my life. If your kids are iffy around the goose then they'll be terrorized by the swans! Black swans I think are less aggressive, but that's just what I've read, not what I've experienced. They are indeed lovely! Also...I never knew peacocks tasted good. Huh. Well, the more you know!

The hatch cam is up, and it looks like the little one should make an appearance today!!!

Brilliant thankyou . They are lovely parent ducks. How can you tell he's a boy by the way?

Drakes have black bills when they hatch, and ducks have pink bills with a black spot on the tip!
