So exciting how many chickens do you have of i see 2 RIRs? well how many after hatch today? Congrats on the sizzle they are adorable.. Makes me want babies. Have to stay off this thread have to stay off this thread. I won't but i need too.

LOL as a matter of fact yes I do have tattoos, too many to count. I also have my nose pierced and lots of piercings in my ears. Lets see what elsr do you want to know.

Up until last week I just had the 2 RIR's (which are really sex links), That's a long story.. short version: TSC sold me the wrong bird.

Last week I got my BIL's 2 Australorps, and Barred Rock. So that has me up to 5.
Then I have these silkie sizzle's that are hatching now.

And I'm up to 5 ducks.

I need more space for more!

Thats right I forgot about your new chickens from BIL,well when you get your new coop you'll have more room

I don't think my drake is doing anything with the girls. Kind of frustrating after reading how drakes will mate with everything and everything all the time and mine seems to be celibate. I candled the eggs under my silkie last night and I can tell the chicken eggs are developing already. I put the duck eggs in a few days before, I think they have been in there around 5 days, I can't really remember what day right offhand. I can't see anything in those, or the ones in my incubator which have been in for over a week. I think I'm going to crack one open to check from the incubator and the silkie. I really don't think they're developing though. Mister duck needs to get his act together soon!

I'm not sure. I got him a few months ago, and the lady said he was around 7 months old. He was going through a molt at the time, and had no drake feather then, so I don't know if they lose it while molting or he was younger than she thought. He hasn't grown any since I brought him home.
They eat mostly layer pellets, with a scoop of gamebird food if anyone's molting or I can't let them out to free range and a scoop of scratch in colder months.
They have a kiddie pool, and they share their run with just under 20 chickens and a turkey. The run is around 20' x 50'. I try to let them out in the yard a few hours each day, our yard is just under 2 acres.

I GOT MY EGGS TODAY!! YEA!!!! Now I have to wait till tomorrow before I put them in the incubator. I want to put them in now, but I will wait.
